Arts and Crafts Sunday!
We had a great meeting this morning about our program goals and what our group can accomplish while we are here (ok, it was a little long, I have to admit it. I have been told that sometimes I talk too much, It happened again. No big deal, I just wanted to make sure that everyone was on the same page with our programs. I repeated myself from time to time. But it is not like we were goofing around during the meeting. In fact, everyone was really serious. I just needed to make sure that everyone was one the same page with our programs. So, yes, I did repeat myself from time to time…).
After lunch we loaded up a duffle bag and headed down to M’Pamila Primary School for some sweet arts and crafts!
Every Sunday our cook (his nickname is Eggman) puts on a “video show” in one of the school blocks. For 20 kwatcha you can watch music videos on his TV for the whole afternoon. You have to give him credit as he FILLS that classroom. It is so popular that the local barber also sets up shop in the classroom next door and for another 20 kwatcha he will give you a buzz! We found a third classroom and setup shop with our markers, pipe cleaners, balloons, lunch bags, bracelet thingys (that’s the best I can do to describe them, you will have to use you imagination) glue and whatever else we could find to have some fun with.
We had a packed house ourselves (Munda was afraid that we offended Eggman because we had maybe taken some of his business) and spent almost three hours hav’in a great time. It was a great way to celebrate the first week of the trip. We are off to Senga Bay early in the morning.
